The 23rd Jimmy Self Junior Golf Tournament is a junior specific tournament designed to introduce great players and students to college programs across the southeast. Players will be accepted based on their respective High School Championship individual finishes. Only 2019 graduates and later classes are permitted to apply. The field size is 84 players (boys and girls) and will be filled according to State Championship results. The exemption lists are published on the tournament site .Players are eligible from SC, NC, GA, and AL. Coaches will be invited to attend and all results will be sent to Golf Week and National Junior Golf Scoreboard.
SC Boys (Spring 2017): 5A, 4A, 3A,- Top 10
2A, 1A Scisa- Top 5 that apply.
SC Girls (Fall 2016): 5A, 4A, 3A- Top 10 that apply, Scisa - Top 4 that apply.
Out of State and AT LARGE Eligibility:
25 spots + any SC vacancies are reserved for out of state high school top finishers and committee exemptions based on state rankings and NJGS rankings.
The Invitational is named for Jimmy Self, former Chairman-of-the-Board for Greenwood Mills, who died in 1995. Mr. Self served as captain of the golf team at Clemson in 1964 & 65, was on the South Carolina Golf Association Board from 1969-71 and was generous to the game of golf in the years that followed. The parties involved felt this tournament would be a great tribute to the man that gave so much to golf.

The Railroad Historical Center features a fully restored Baldwin Steam Engine and its tender, as well as six newly restored cars, including a diner, sleeper, passenger, and Executive car, plus a caboose!
You will have a guided tour by a train buff who knows and loves this train. Your "conductor" will be happy to share their knowledge and many of the interesting facts they know, helping bring to life the era when trains were kings of transportation!

Bring the whole family to Kidfest where we’ll be featuring crowd favorite and the ULTIMATE Entertainer, Mark Lippard! He puts on a dazzling display of pure talent, athleticism and lots of variety. He delivers a fast paced, high-energy performance full of clean laughs, juggling, trick unicycling, fire eating, balance and surprising fun-filled audience participation.
In addition, the Wildlife Geeks, Chuck Alberding, will be showcasing an incredible variety animals for the kids to experience and discover. Chuck introduces his entourage of mammals, snakes, reptiles, and amphibians to kids of all ages. His presentation focuses on the unique characteristics and habitat of the animals as well as the importance of conservation of all species. Kidfest will also include karate demonstrations, dance performances, activities, exhibits, face painting plus the Uptown Market Splash pad for your kids to enjoy.

A Prehistoric Journey Where Dinosaurs Ruled!
The Museum is thrilled very excited about our summer exhibit this year, Dinosaur Discovery. It comes to us from the Virginia Museum of Natural History, and includes a life-size Triceratops, a large digging pit that kids can actually dig up fossils in, and an extensive maze that explores the habitats of dinosaurs.
Come visit us and step back in time on our second floor of The Museum. Lots of wonder for both kids and adults!

Dakota and Friends is a dinosaur roadshow with a mission! Our mission is to get our dinosaurs to any and all the kids who want to see them. We have realistic Dinosaurs that we use for entertainment and education.
We also offer unique Dinosaur programs that can bring out the curiosity in any child of any age. From a Hatching Baby Dinosaur to a dinosaur that can dance, to a T. Res Head big enough to swallow you whole.
In addition, this year's Kidfest will feature games, interactive activities, emergency vehicles, face painting, plus the splash pad for kids to play in, and many different performances for everyone to enjoy.
