The SC Festival of Flowers is proud to announce that we are reinstating the “Flower of the Year” art competition during our 53rd annual Festival in June 2020! For more than 20 years the Festival featured a talented artist and their unique flower prints.
Flower of the Year 2006 - Hydrangea
The Flower of the Year for 2020 is the hydrangea. Entries will be juried by a selection of Festival representatives in two distinct categories - adult and high school students. The winning entry from each category will be featured in the 2020 souvenir program and displayed during the Festival, during the Main Weekend events and throughout the month of June. The winning adult entry will also be printed on limited edition commemorative posters. A selection of works will also be showcased at Howard’s on Main in Greenwood, SC.

Submissions will be taken by mail and online. Payments must be submitted by mail or over the phone.
ELIGIBILITY
Anyone 14 years or older may submit an art entry. All original works of art - produced within the last three years - which have not previously been on view in a juried art show in Greenwood, SC are eligible. Deadline for adult entry is Feburary 28th, and mail entries must be postmarked on or before Feburary 28th.Deadline for student entry is March 13h, and mail entries must be postmarked on or before March 13th. A non-refundable entry fee of $35 is required for adult entires. The work must contain a hydrangea. Applicants must submit a high quality (300dpi) digital image to be juried. Original work must be 2D and dimension of artwork cannot exceed 16”x20.” All work selected for the showcase must be wired and ready to hang. Prints can be framed, but must be wired. Digital copy winning images become property of SC Festival of Flowers and will be used in promotional materials and events associated with the Festival. The SC Festival of Flowers reserves the right to refuse any entry.
