For a day filled with family fun activities!

Catch a performance by a hip hop artist. Be entertained by the magical sounds of a saxophonist and a bass player. Be swept away by poetry and puppeteers. It’s all about fun on Family Fun Day as visitors paint rocks, learn drumming, craft paper birds and pot a take-home plant.  At the bookstall, children can select their own books and hear a storyteller. At Beanie Babies and Bears, there will be free stuffed animals. The Back to Nature booth introduces snakes and other treasures from the woods while children use clay and colors to create their own interpretations of nature’s bounty. And it’s all free.So join your friends and make new ones at Family Fun Day  — because there’s nothing quite like a walk in the park. The Cat in the Hat, Horton the Elephant, and even The Grinch all jump from the pages of Dr. Seuss's vast library on to our stage for our exciting “Seussical Summer Spectacular” summer camp. During the week, campers will participate in age-appropriate crafts and activities related to creative and performing arts, as well as meet characters from the show, and learn about what it takes to put on our biggest show of the year. Campers will be invited to perform on stage with the cast of "Seussical the Musical" during the Friday, June 14 performance.

The Butterfly Encounter is not only an interactive, walk-through exhibit but it also provides educational demonstrations. You and your family will get to see the lifecycle of a butterfly from egg to adult. You’ll also learn how to fix a broken wing.

Chuck introduces his entourage of mammals, snakes, reptiles, and amphibians to kids of all ages. His presentation focuses on the unique characteristics and habitat of the animals as well as the importance of conservation of all species. Don’t forget to join us for the rest of Kidfest at Piedmont Tech’s Medford Center that will also include karate demonstrations, dance performances, activities, exhibits, and face painting for your kids to enjoy.

You will start out from the soccer field, then go on the Capsugel/LONZA track, and then out to the Greenwood Rails to Trails and back.

Overall Winning Male/Female & Masters Male/Female Winners will receive $100.
2nd Place winners will receive $50.

Juried Youth Art Show & Exhibit

Presented by the Arts Council of Greenwood County

The South Carolina Festival of Flowers Juried Youth Art Show was established in 2015 as a sanctioned event in coincidence with the festival, with funding attributed to an established endowment in the name of the late, Virginia Self.

The annual show will be on display in the Reception Hall at The Arts Center from May 30 - June 8, 2019 with an opening reception scheduled for Thursday, June 6 from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. for all included entrants.

A Prehistoric Journey Where Dinosaurs Ruled!

The Museum is thrilled very excited about our summer exhibit this year, Dinosaur Discovery. It comes to us from the Virginia Museum of Natural History, and includes a life-size Triceratops, a large digging pit that kids can actually dig up fossils in, and an extensive maze that explores the habitats of dinosaurs. 

Come visit us and step back in time on our second floor of The Museum. Lots of wonder for both kids and adults!

Get ready for a wildly entertaining show, "Dakota and Friends!" 

Join us for a WILD, unique and educational experience with our featured performer, “Dakota and Friends,” the ultimate dinosaur entertainer with six different dinosaurs, exploding volcanoes, natural habitats for the dinosaurs and much more!

Dakota and Friends is a dinosaur roadshow with a mission! Our mission is to get our dinosaurs to any and all the kids who want to see them. We have realistic Dinosaurs that we use for entertainment and education.

We also offer unique Dinosaur programs that can bring out the curiosity in any child of any age. From a Hatching Baby Dinosaur to a dinosaur that can dance, to a T. Res Head big enough to swallow you whole.

In addition, this year's Kidfest will feature games, interactive activities, emergency vehicles, face painting, plus the splash pad for kids to play in, and many different performances for everyone to enjoy.
